Taiwan Baseball News: Walk-off Smash Does In Agan

First Securities Agan 1 President Lions 2 (10 innings)
The First Securities Agan are flushing foreign players out faster than the Hulk can smash 50-storey buildings as the last-place club moved American native Benjamin Burlingame off the 25-man roster and added Dominican native Claudio Galva.
Even though Burlingame won in his 2003 Chinese Professional Baseball League debut, the Agan decided to start Galva last night and it paid off as he kept them in the game with a solid eight-inning effort in which he surrendered one run, which was earned, on five hits. He also walked two and struck out three. But President Lions rookie sensation Wei-luen Pan matched him pitch-for-pitch as he went 8 1/3 innings, giving up one run, which was unearned, on nine hits.
That set the stage for the bottom half of the tenth inning as the Leos hit a game-winning walk-off home run off Agan reliever Wen-hsiung Hsu (3-9-1) to win the ball game 2-1.
Agan first baseman Hung-jeh Tsai went 3-for-5 with one RBI in a losing effort.
The Agan will play the Lions again tonight at Tainan Stadium (6:35 p.m. Taiwan time).
