IN A PINCH: VICTORINO

Tied at one, bases loaded, two out, eighth frame;
Flyin’ Hawaiian off the bench, can’t wait to get into the game.
Works count to 3-2, fouls off tough slider, tensions rise;
jumps on high fastball, base-clearing double to left; is this a surprise?
Surprise is six bullpen zeroes, just what team needs to achieve fame.

Sunday, June 24, 2007. Busch Stadium, St. Louis, Missouri.
Philadelphia – 5, St. Louis – 1.
WP – Sanches (1-0), LP – Thomson (3-5).
H – Condrey (1).
