Phillies Journal - 2007

by Max Blue

Phils down 3-2 with three outs to go;
Billy Wagner left-handing his 98 MPH show;
Pat Burrell took him deep,
Mets’ fans a 44,000 voice BLEEP.
In the tenth Phils score three; in Philly a ten-million voice Ho, Ho, Ho!

This is as good as it gets:
a three-game sweep of the Mets!
Alfonseca (el pulpo) saved all three
Phils’ bullpen a flat-out joy to see;
step up fans, place your bets.

Its always fun to win of course...
When victory comes from an unlikely source...
And who was the Phil that applied the force ?
Pat the Bat was the winning horse...
