J-ROLL STAKES HIS CLAIM
Pre-season J-Roll said Phillies were best;
Mets’ fans outraged — with their minds he had messed.
In the 7th inning this night at Shea the boo-birds are out;
Mets lead 2-0, J-Roll a chance to show what his claim’s all about.
“Told you, so,” says Jimmy — a three-run game winner — what’s the next test?

Fun to watch the season unfold...
The real key, if the truth to be told...
Is the Flyin Hawaiian and his arm of pure gold...
With his speed, spark and nerve...
And unwilling to swerve...
As the team rounds the curve..
Toward what they deserve...
He may be the key 'tween wiinng and losing...
It isn't a matter picking or chosing...
It isn't even very confusing...
The rest of the league won't find it amusing...
