MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF EVIL

It rained on our parade.
Starting a game at 11:30 P.M. is a charade.
We’re batting when we should be sleeping;
the result is Delaware Valley weeping.
Two back with three to play, our hopes are beginning to fade.

Thursday, September 28 (11:30 P.M.) – Friday, September 29 (2:10 A.M.)
RFK Stadium, Washington, D.C.
Washington – 3, Philadelphia – 1.
WP – Traber (4-3), save – Rauch (2). LP – Lieber (9-11).
HR – Church (9).

Now I lay me down to sleep...
Which should be our remark...
Instead we wait around and keep
looking for a spark...
The light which lead's to October play
with all the other gents...
Instead we just curl up and say...
This game don't make no sense...
So now we are Miami bound
with chances none to slim...
So finish with a resounding sound
And MAKE the Dodgers win...
