LET’S PLAY TWO – AGAIN
Game one:
HOWARD BOMBS THREE

Phils’ fans took up the chant MVP! MVP! MVP!
Each time H-bomb launched from the tee.
Braves’ four-run ninth gave them the lead,
Phils’ came back to answer fans’ plead.
A game to remember with glee.

Sunday, September 3, 2006. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia – 8, Atlanta – 7.
WP – Geary (7-0). LP – Wickman (0-1).
HR – Renteria (12), Pratt (4), Diaz (6).
Howard – 3 (52).
Game two:
GEARY WEARY

The bats must have felt like lead.
Both teams played as if dead.
Extra innings to make matters worse,
baseball gods nothing if not perverse,
rookie Ruiz’s error put Braves ahead.

Sunday, September 3, 2006. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Atlanta – 3, Philadelphia – 1.
WP – Paronto (2-2), save – Wickman (12). LP – Geary (7-1).

SPORADIC YANKEE JOURNAL:
WHO NEEDS MATSUI AND SHEFFIELD?

WE'RE IN BY NINE,
THOUGHT THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
ALL THIS IS QUITE FINE,
AS WE BEGIN TO FATTEN
OUR AMERICAN LEAGUE LEAD
AND DOING IT WITH SOME SPEED!

In the dog days of fall...
it's hard to play ball...
When you're wore out and tired...
and hardly inspired...
It's hard to make noise...
Seperate men from the boys...
The tough ones can do it...
and some can't get through it...
Can the Phils rule the scene ?
Remains to be seen...
