HAMELS SPARKLES, PEDRO FIZZLES

Phils gave Cole Hamels a 13-run lead,
exactly twelve more than he’d need.
Pedro Martinez pitched hurt;
lucky to get out with his shirt.
Good pitching, good hitting equals- succeed.

August 14, 2006. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia – 13, New York Mets – 0.
WP – Hamels (5-6). LP – Martinez (9-5).
HR – Dellucci (11), Rollins (18), Victorino (5).

A bit surprised to say the least...
At one who stabilized the score...
And helped tame the fearsome New York beast...
Twas it the famed F. Castro, of Cuban lore ?
