ONE DOWN
On a hot, steamy night at the Bank,
we mostly have Lidle to thank
for pitching as well as he did—
eight innings he held down Braves’ lid,
and kept us from walking the plank.
July 21, 2006. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia – 6, Atlanta – 5.
WP – Lidle (7-7), Save – Gordon (23). LP – Ray (1-1).
HR – Thorman (4), Renteria (10), Francouer (18).
Coste (2), Rollins (11).

Can't win 'em all
'less you win the first...
keep playing good ball
And Braves bubble will burst...
The homers keep flyin'
and thats just the case...
but it's one run they're buyin'
when no ones on base...
So keep the ball low
and shaving the dark...
where hitters don't go...
Keep the ball in the park...
