Japanese Baseball News: Giants make a move

By Glenn Davies,Tokyo Japan. Former Buffaloes and Tiger first baseman George Arias is back in Japan. Arias signed with the free-falling Giants to try and shore up their ailing line-up and add some much needed punch. Arias, who has been playing in Mexico, signed a one year deal worth an estimated 30 million yen. Arias last played in 2004 for the Tigers and hit .272 25 84 on the season, strangely similar numbers to his current Mexican league .272 19 71, no doubt the Giants will be looking for the same. | |
