TWO H-BOMBS SWEEP REDS

Ryan Howard hit two and that’s all we got.
Enough to sweep Reds into NL Central 2nd place slot.
Good pitching by Brett Myers and the pen.
Good outfield play once again.
Phillies, 13 of 14, are hot.

May 14, 2006.The Great American Ballpark. Cincinnati, Ohio.
Philadelphia -2. Cincinnati – 1. (12 innings)
WP- Geary (1-0), Save, Gordon (13). LP – Hammond (0-1).
HR –LaRue (2)
Howard, 2 (12).

This was special. Howard spent the night in the hospital emergency room
with food poisoning. He pinch hit in the 8th with Phils down 1-0. With the count
two strikes and no balls, lefty Claussen hung a curve and Howard hit it over the
centerfield fence. In the 12th off lefty Hammond he did it again. It’s the kind of thing
you might expect from Jim Thome.
