WBC: Final Round Matchups
By Craig Tomarkin

For those of you keeping score - there are four teams remaining. On Saturday - Korea plays Japan and The Dominican Republic plays Cuba. The winners meet on Monday at 9pm est to decide it.

Korea (6-0) - Current favorites. Beat USA and beat Japan twice. Have not faced Cuba or DR yet.

Dominican Republic (5-1) - Best team from the other half of the draw. Beat Cuba 7-3. Only loss was to a tough Puerto Rico team, which very nearly made the final four. Got passed Venezuela twice in close games.

Japan (3-3) - Struggled against the better teams (Korea and US) but won the games they had to win to get in.

Cuba (4-2) - Not a surprise to be in finals, but had a tough time getting here and probably least likely to win it. They beat PR 4-3 to get in, avenging a loss to them by the mercy rule in round 1. They did not have to face the USA, Korea, or Japan to make the final. And, they lost to the DR, who they will have to face Saturday to win the tournament.
