Latin America: Licey Tigers win Dominican Republic Playoffs, by Gene Newman
The Licey Tigers won a 7-game playoff with Aguilas Cibaenas to be crowned champion of the 2005-06 Dominican Republic League. Licey won the series five games to two. Aguilas had won the regular season title by 2.5 games over Licey, with Leones del Escogido another five games back and Azucareros del Este another 6.5 back.
