Mazatlan 5 Guasave 3

The Deer are simply playing good baseball , in teamwork and get onne ste further to get their second consecutive title in the Mex Pac and make the CS in Vnezuela , winning 5-3 to Guasave in a ver y anguish way and leada series 3-1

SS, Heber Gomez whose regular seaso performance was so unregular, become the big cannon , with his 3 runs runs home run to provide Venados alead they`ve never lost, and by also driving another one to totl 4in the game in support to winner Hugo Castellanos off losing one Edgar Leyva.

Leyva was a victim of his pitches out if command, particularly in the 4 th inning whe he loaded all bases by walking all Venados batters, the Ray Sadler`s sac fly drove one in to be followed by Gomerz rocking home run

Actually Cotoneers outhit the Deer 9 to 7 hits , however they clutch hitting delivered and scored 5 total runs in the game

Castellanos, ( 5. 2 IP , 2R . 2W , 5 K ) work and 6 more relievers including closer Marty McLeary combined to preserved the win to Venados

In the other hand Edgar Leyva , maybe under big pressure to win the game, was lacking command on his pitches so, batters took advantage of it, getting on bases frecueltly ,therefore being a threat that turned into clutch runs, went 4 inninns with 4 H , 4 R and 4 Walk, 5 relievers including Dale Thayer worked the rest of the way allowing only 3 more Venados hits in 5 innings, an excellent performance by the, but damage was done

Miguel Flores went 3-4 , continuing his good swinging at bat and final series batting leader, for Guasave Demond Smith hit a solo shot, while Dave Doster and Kevin Barker went 2-4 both

Tonight, Pablo Ochoa wo beat Guasave in the series opener will face Luis Carlos Rivera again, in a potential championship clinching game, the Deer moral is high on to continuig writing history as one of the most profitable franchises in Mexcican baseball, and to get their 7th title in 10 Finals series played, a remarkable performance by the Deer
