OBRE GON – MAZATLAN

It seemed like a me too type of game when Yaquis reacted so heavily in the ninth ,however closer Mark Worrell (9) spoke louder to resume the rampage and finally Venados beat Obregon 5 – 4 in a reliever duel, and former Yaqui Oscar Bustillos won over Osvaldo Verdugo.
Yaquis ambushed deers in the eve of the game when Alfredo Amezaga tripled to left and Chris Latham brought him home with a single, stolen second and scored through Geronimo Gil`s single.

Venados replied with 3 runs in the 3rd inning, where Ray Sadler drove on ein with a single, an error by Manuel Velez brought one more and Adrian Gonzalez sacrifice flied one more.

Obregon tied up to 3 runs when Doug DeVore doubled home Chris Latham
Venados won the game in the 6th by scoring their 4th and 5th runs,

Brad Eldred the highly regarded Pittsburgh prospect made his debut with Mazatlan and went hitless in 4 AB.

Adrian Gonzalez collected 2 hits for Mazatlan, while his bro Edgar has not seen action lately dued to a sore arm, but scheduled to return to the line up by Dec 22nd.


CULIACAN - NAVOJOA

Navojoa kept on streaking and beat Culiacan who are exactly doing the opposite despite of the major league plagued roster and lost 6 -2 against winner Isauro Pineda and his reliever counterparts who stopped Culiacan reactions, and allowng only 3 hits, meanwhile Mayos led by Doug Clark`s home run ( 9 ) who drove 3 runs in were all the support they needed to get job done.

Victor Alvarez a former LA Dodger prospect who had some pitching stints with them and Philadelphia was the loser.

Culiacan signed 3B Chad Ehrnsberger , and went 4-0 in the game, that laste only 1hou and 40 minute to become of the fastest played ones ever, the record for a 9 inning game is 1 hour and 14 minutes between Guaymas and Hermosillo back in 1958 during the first season.


HERMOSILLO – MEXICALI

Naranjeros beat Mexicali Eagles 7-4 to step a little bit further into the play off with winner in relief Andy Shibilo off losing also in relief work, Julio Cesar Parra, with closer Oscar Villarreal (4) picking up the save and showing that he is in good shape the one that took him to the big leagues.

Hermosillo had to battle 10 innings to win by scoring the 3 winning runs in the top of that inning when Jose Luis Sandoval doubled home Luis Alfonso Garcia and Jon Nunnally and afterwards pinch hitter Hector Hurtado tripled home the 3rd run.

For Hermsoillo Garcia smashed his 15th round tripper of the winter, while for Mexicali , hometown boy Christian Presichi who is bringing back the power he exhibited while a rookie in the AZL , whacked his 8th.

Naranjeros debuted Joe Vitiello, who went 4-0 as DH in a game that saw 13 pitchers for both sides.

GUASAVE – MOCHIS

In a Boston – Yankees game like, Guasave beat their archrivals Cañeros 8 -7 with winner Ignacio Montaño off loser Rafael Diaz who only lasted 1 inning but rocked by 6 hits and 5 runs form which Davee Doster singled home one, followed by a 2 runs home run by Puerto Rican Armando Rios, an error and single by Luis Borges drove in two more .

However Cañeros keep on fighting and were closed to tied the game, after scoring runs in the 1st through a 2 runs home run by Juan Castro, who drove a total of 5 runs in , while repeating the power dosage ,smashing his second one of the night in the 5th inning, it was his 3rd of the year.

For Guasave, Kevin Barker emulated Castro by hitting 2 home runs as well to reached 7 in the year
