Mochis Cañeros consolidating their leadership position in this second half extended their winning streak to 3 games and defeated Hermosillo Orange Growers by 8 – 3, with winner Marcus Gwyn in relief off loser Javier Arturo Lopez one of the six pitcher used by manager Pat Kelly in trying to stop Cañeros attacks.One of them Milwaukee Brewers , Jorge de la Rosa was rocked with 4 hits and 4 runs in only 0.1 innning of work.

Cañeros come from behind and overcome a deficit of 7 runs scored first by Hermosillo in which Rontrez Johnson (6) homered home 2 runs, the they scored another 4 runs where , Christian Quinteros singled home Carlos Orrantia followed by another RBI single by Victor Bojorquez, an error by Luis Garcia drove in one more , and Calvin Pickering , Saul Soto singled home two more all off reliever de la Rosa.

Cañeros , finally put the game on their side scoring winning 4 runs in the 9th, where Saul Soto again singled home the tie breaking 2 runs,
Luis Alfonso Garcia smashed his 12th round tripper of the year for Hermosillo.while for Los Mochis, Pickering , Orrantia and Ramon Orantes collected 3 hits apiece, and also hot hitting Quintero extended his hitting streak to 33 games and counting , by going 5 -1.


In Obregon, facing archrival Navojoa Mayos and beating 8 -3 them was something to write at home, being only the Yaquis 3rd win of this round, with winner Miguel “ Sexy” Duarte working in relief to starter Michael Tejera who went 4-1 innings with 6 hits and 3 runs, and counting in the support from Alfredo Amezaga who tripled home 3 runs in the 4th , followed by another RBI single by Javier Robles all off Mario Mendoza who went 3.2 innings allowing 6 Yaquis runs.

In Doing so , Obregon made some rosters moves and released manager Lorenzo Bundy and put coach Homar Rojas as interim manager who was welcome well with this win.Also OFLuis Arredondo was reactivated.
New manager will be Lee Sigman a guy who last led Yaquis to a championship back in 1981-82 and an Obregon resident, also the LMB Scouting Director will try to accomplish an almost lost chance for Obregon in making it to the play offs, good luck to my good buddy.

Orioles catcher, Geronimo Gil belted his 4th of the season while Amezaga, Robles , Chris Latham and Luis Carlos Garcia collected 2 hits per head.

MEX PAC NOTES

Guasave`s catcher Noe Muñoz is the league new batting leader with .352 displacing Norris Hopper and sending him t the 5th spot. Luis Garcia .349 , Howie Clark and Christian Quintero both with .345 follow him.

In the power department the race is red hot with Calvin Pickering on top with 13 followed by Luis Garcia , Ruben Rivera and Mario Valenzuela with 12.

Oliver Perez pitched already with Culiacan , going 1.1 innings safely

Hermosillo released OF Andy Abad who poorly performed in 32 games batting .250 with only 1 home run and 18 RBI.s

Jorge de la Rosa has an 8.10 ERA in 6 games , 6 innings, 6 runs all earned ones

Pedro Castellan is batting .340 in 12 games with Mazatlan, meanwhile Edgar Gonzalez has .381 in as many games , however Pedro has drove 13 runs in to be one of the most productive hitter in the team.

Morgan Burkhart started to play with Navojoa after injuring his hand at the beginning of the season and now he has gone 2 games .

Oscar Robles is batting .158 in 11 games , still out of shape after joining Navojoa and after a long break.

Twins SS , Juan Castro reappearing in Mex Pac made his debut with hometown tean of Los Mochis Cañeros and has no hits in 2 games and 8 AB.
