Walter Silva scattered 4 hits and 2 runs while receiving big support form Heber Gomez`s grand slam and the 6th round tripper of the year by Adrian Gonzales and beat Navojoa and then undefeated Mario Mendoza Jr, 10 to 2.
Edgar Gonzalez , a Nationals farmhand and Adrian`s brother collected 2 hits for Venados.
Jesse Gutierrez continued his torrid pace with Navojoa and connected his 5th of the season.

In second game of the doubleheader, Mazatlan outdueled Navojoa 1-0 completing the sweep with winner in relief ,Marc Books I support to starter Hugo Castellanos who went 5.2 innings allowinh 1 hit and fanning 5 Mayos batters.
Marc Worrell picked his 1st save of the season.
For Navojoa, loser Juan Jose Nuñez started the 8th , walking Miguel Flores followed by and infieldhit by Ray Sadler, a throwing error by catcher and under Maury Lara`s relief, Todd Linden walked and driving the winning run in.

Navojoa avoided neing swept by Yaquis, winning 5-4 with winner Miguel Angel Gonzalez on the mound and Randall Simon provide all the needed support with a 3 RBI`s home run his 2nd of the season and bet Yaquis and rookie Jesus Aurelio Rodriguez, 5-4.
Ruben Rivera ( 10 ) for Culiacan and Geronimo Gil ( 1). , Obregon hit homers

Mexicali Aguilas and Mochis Cañeros splitted victories in Sunday DH , having Mexicali beating Mochis 5-2 in the first game with 5th starter Jorge Flores who have won all his 3 games on Sundays DH, over loser Francisco Rodriguez, who lost his second game in a row.
Aguilas scored 3 runs in the opener after RBI singles by Darryl Brinkley and Carlos Sivers, plus a sac fly by Bubba Smith. Marc Saccomano hit his first for Mochis.

In the second game, winner Adrian Manzano in relief to starter Steve Bourgeois who made his debut with Mochis, and supported by 3 ribbies by Calvin Pickering defeated Aguilas 3 -1.Brian Roadway lost for Mexicali, from whom Derrick White belted his 2nd round tripper of the season.
ANTONIO OSUNA picked up his first save of the year.


Spike Lundberg confirming that, he is the best pitcher this season picked up his 6th win beating Hermosillo 6-5 supported by a home run by Kevin Barker and clutch hitting by Guasave batters off losing pitcher Azael Alvarez.
Naranjeros were close to tie agme in the 9th after Luis Alfonso Garcia the league`s leader in batting smashed his 11th of the year, afterwards closer Dale Thayer ( 11 ) come in to resume the game.
Also hot hitter, Hermsoillo`s Juan Carlos Canizalez hit 2 homers, his 6 and 7 of this year to go along iwith Garcia as the Hermosillo best hitting duet.

So, first half ended with leader Mayos earning 8 points, Guasave 7, Hermosillo 6 , Culiacan 5 , Mexicali 4.5 , Obregon 4 , Mazatlan 3.5 and Mochis 3

The rationale to earn point here and after having 3 teams tied in 3rd place, is best W-L vs. opponent and if still tied up , goes to best run average, this was the case to define Culiacan and Hermosillo spot having Naranjeros better RA than Tomateros.

Luis Alfonso Garcia still holding the league batting leadership, with .365 follwed by teammate Juan Carlos Canizalez with .346.
Garcia with 11 in homers and RBI with 34 leads also in this deprtment.
As for pitching , Spike Lundberg has 6-1 in W-L , and 1.92 in ERA to lead all, as for Strikeouts, Francisco Campos has 41 and Guasave`s closer Dale Thayer has a league leading 11 saves.
