SQUEAK

Bottom of the ninth and all zeroes.
Patterson and Lidle the pitching heroes.
Abreu (single to right) was the first one to shine.
The sixth pitch to Utley was fine
and he drilled it tight to the line.
A double to right,
what a beautiful sight,
David (Liberty) Bell (sac fly) made Frank Robinson pine.

July 9, 2005. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA.
Philadelphia – 1, Washington – 0.

First 1-0 in ball park history
How they did it is still a mystery.
Balls fly from bats
Like popcorn a poppin'
which usually keeps the bull pens a hoppin'...
But today the hurlers were lustely hurlin
'gainst lumber the batters were feebely twirlin...
So hooray for the guys we too often scoff
You're heros today and our hats are off !!!
