ALFONSO "CHICO " CARRASQUEL

Latin baseball is mourning the passing after a big fight with diabetes of one of their greatest players ever, Venezuelan SS Alfonso " Chico" Carrasquel who starred in major league baseball with White Sox, Cleveland and Baltimore whe he retired from big show in 1959, after 10 seasons ; he plays for Caracas Lions in Venezuelan winter ball, as well as representing his country in Caribbean series .
A fine short stop in his playing days, opened the doors to a long list of fine Venezuelan SS who had been shining in big leagues like,Luis Aparicio, Dave Concepcion,Ozzie Guillen, Omar Vizquel, Carlos Guillen and more recently Cesar Izturis.

We hope ,god have him in his glory.
