OSCAR ROBLES the Mexico City 2B played his last game with them last sunday against Saltillo and after that said goodbye at least for a while, to all his teammates because earlu in the game he was called up from Dodgers to go to Saint Louis and join the team , in justice to his fine performance in spring training and the need to fill up a spot in Blue roster, after some injuries of players such Jose Valentin and rhe release of japanese player Norihiro Nakamura.
Afine defense infielder, can fill the ulitily player role, specially that in the middle infield, with sure hands and contact hitting.Wish yhim best of luck for Oscar also a quality person.
MARIO MENDOZA was named the new manager for the Tabasco Olmecas in replacement of Chico Rodriguez who was fired last week end after a 7 losing game streak.
Mendoza a fine SS in his playing days, reached the majors with Seattle, Pittsburgh and Texas, well known as good defense no hitting SS brought the name of the "Mendoza Line", to baseball meaning to those hitters hitting below .200.
So, he is returning as manager in this league after last managed the Angelopolis Tigers in 2004 and after spending sevearl seasons with the Anaheim Angels organization as farm teams manager.
