Campeche ruined Tigers 50th year celebrations winning by 17-10 on a hitting fest put up by the Pirates yesterday in front of a packed up "Hermanos Serdan" Stadium where the #1 Tigers jersey were retired in honor of founder ALEJO PERALTA .
Finally a costing throwing error by reliever OSCAR BUSTILLOS opened the door for a 5 runs rally in the top of the 8th and lined Pirates to win this match.avoiding the sweep and recuperating the South division lead with FRANCISCO CAMPOS (4-1) winning, while LEO MUÑOZ (0-1) lost, and again MATIAS CARRILLO (9) and JORGE VAZQUEZ(13) who hit home run in his 6th consecutive game,one shy of the league´s record, BILL SELBY (12) ,FLAVIO ROMERO (119; ROQUE SANCHEZ (19 and rookie JUAN MANUEL BELTRAN (1) for Pirates ,hit homers.

Saltillo won 74 to Tijuana supported on the pitching of Tijuana native RIGO BELTRAN (5-1) , a chip from the same stick and the hitting of JAYSON BASS (8) who went 5-2 with a homer and 3 ribbies.
NATHAN BLAND (1-1) lost for Colts, allowing all the Saltillo´s runs,icnluding a homer by PEDRO VALDEZ .his 9th.RANDALL SIMON continues red hot swinging and went 5-4 with his 11th homer and is now hitting .380.

Monterrey Sultans scored 7 runs in one inning including a grand slam by ADAN AMEZCUA (1) to support SERGIO MORA (3-0) pitching to a win by 7-4 off Aguascalientes Railroadmen.FRANCISCO RIVERA (2-4) lost for Aguas, and BOBBY LARA hit his 5th of the season.

Oaxaca Warriors double win over Tabasco Olmecas by 6-5 and 6-1 allowed the to sweep their closest rival led by the hiiting of Dominican ANGEL PEÑA who went 4-2 diving 3 runs in the first game, and winner JOSE AVALOS (4-1) in relief, while Cuban OSVALDO FERNANDEZ (3-4); JUAN CAMILO (2) and EDUARDO ARREDODNDO (1) hit round trippers for Tabasco.
As for the second game, winner ELEAZAR MORA (1-0) went the distance allowing 8 hits and 1 run, while rookie JOAQUIN ELVITRA (0-1) lost for Olmecas.

ERICK KNOTT (5-1) led Parrotts to win 3-1 over Yucatan Lions and OSCAR RIVERA (1-3) and also take series home.JOSIAS MANZANILLO (4) came in rescue of Knott to pick up the save.

Veteran ,RICARDO SAENZ of Monclova went 4-3 with 3 scored runs, 6 ribbies including his 8th of the year to lead Steelers AND jason jacome (4-3) to a victory over San Luis by 16-5.For San Luis, NESTOR RENOVATO (2-1) from whom Colombian CARLOS VILLALOBOS connected his 9th of the year.

Laguna scored 4 runs in the 4th inning good enough to beat Mexico City Red Devils and RUDY GONZALEZ (5-3) by 5-4,and made reliever RAY PULIDO (1-0) a winner of this match, and BEN RIVERA the saver (7).
VICTOR BOJORQUEZ for Mexico City, smashed his 11th of the season, while for Laguna RAMON ESPINOSA had a 3 hits night.

FRANCISCO VALDEZ (3) and HECTOR HERNANDEZ (5) combo, drove in 10 runs with a grand slam form Valdez and a couple of homers by Hernandez,to lead Veracruz to a victory over Cancun, by 15-11, 8 of those runs scored in the top of the 9th to line up this victory.
Reliever, GUADALUPE PEREZ (1-1) won this game,while GERALDO BUENO (0-1) lost for Cancun.
OMAR RAMIREZ (13), and Yucatanians RAUL SANCHEZ (6) and LOU LUCCA (1) hit also homers in this game.


NEWS:

Surprisingly, veteran 1B GUILLERMO VELAZQUEZ who reached the majors with San Diego and Montreal with brief stints there , almost retired form baseball, is now the leegue leader in hitting, with .417 playing for Angelopolis Tigers.
