by Trent Harrison

Jack McKeon said himself he is not afraid to let his starters go the distance when they are on. Well Jack, it looks like Josh is on. Beckett recorded his second win with a complete game eleven strikeout performance against the Washington Nationals yesterday and has yet to allow a run. In the early parts of the season when pitchers ERA can be in the fifties and sixties, that ain't bad coming from the six foot five Texan who can bring Death Valley-like heat. this guy's Spring Training earned run average was .99.
Juan Encarnacion ripped another Grand Slam while Juan Pierre went 3-5. Paul Loduca broke up a scorless tie in the seventh with a pinch-hit two run double to chase starter John Patterson of the mound in his debut with the Nationals. Florida will stay at home to face the Phillies while the Nat's will go to Atlanta to regroup against the Braves.
