TABASCO -- MEXICO CITY

With CLAUDIO MORENO (4-0) the best pitcher in the inferno staff, winning last night 5-3 to save face and honor, because Tabasco Olmecas took the series home by winning th two first games of this confrontation, by 7-6 and 9-4 respectively.
For Tbasco,losing pitcher was Cuban OSVALDO FERNANDEZ (1-2) to whom VICTOR BOJORQUEZ hit his 6th homer of the season.
Previously, Olmecas with winning pitchers RAMON (1-0) and BRONSWELL PATRICK (1-1) on the mound got on Reds, supported with good hitting perfomances by JULIAN YAN who collected 3 hits in the first game and CARLOS SIEVERS who did the same in the second.
For Mexico City, VICTOR BOJORQUEZ hit his 5tth and ROBERTO SAUCEDO his 6th round trippers of the season

OAXACA--SALTILLO

Venezuelan hurler JOSMIR ROMERO (3-0) pitching and Dominican ANGEL PEÑA ,batting a HR and 2 RBI´s were enough for Warriors to beat Sarape Makers at home, by 7-5.RIGO BELTRAN (0-1) the losing pitcher, and MORGAN BURKHART (3) hit a homer for Saltillo.
Series were for Oaxaca, by winning the second game as well by a score of 15-9 with winner JUAN CARLOS PULIDO (1-2) on the mpund and for Saltillo the loser was MIGUELA ANGEL GONZALEZ (1-1).
For Oaxaca, FELIX JOSE went 6.4 including a HR along with ANGEL PEÑA ,while for Saltillo, SERGIO PALAFOX and CHRISTIAN PRESICHI hit HR´s too.

AGUASCALIENTES -- YUCATAN

Railraodmen beat Lions 1-0 last night, with winning pitcher JUAN FRANCISCO PEÑA (2-0) on the mound and losing ALFREDO ACEVES (2-3), when an RBI single by RONTREZ JOHNSOn drove the runner in.however series stayed home .
Previous games were for Yucatan 6-2 and 6-1 ,with OSVALDO VERDUGO (2-0) and LUIS NAVARRO ( 1-1)on the mound and Loser FRANCISCO RIVERA ( 0-1) and ABRAHAM ELVIRA (0-1)
EDUARDO RIOS for Aguascalientes hit his 9th homer of the year, and PEDRO CASTELLANO(4) in all Venezuelan series.

MONCLOVA -- PUEBLA

Steelers took on Parrotts 12-8 supported in 2 HR´s by RICARDO SAENZ and one more by FERNANDO RODRIGUEZ and the pitching of JORGE FLORES (1-0) and defeated to JORGE LARA (1-1) working o relief to Ravelo Manzanillo, but not enough to avoid losing series against Puebla, who previously beat them
6-2 with JORGE LARA (1-0) and 13-2 with ERICK KNOTT (3-1) on the mound, while for Monclova losing pitchers were,RICARDO GUZMAN (1-1) and RAUL RODRIGUEZ (0-2) who is trying a comeback and as of today is not resulting well.

SAN LUIS POTOSI -- CANCUN

Lobstermen won 8-7 yesterday and left series home, with winning pitcher IGNACIO MONTAÑO (3-0) and losing ALBERTO MANRIQUE (0-3).
There were HR´s by LUIS BUSTILLOS and EDER SALCEDO for San Luis,while for Cancun LIU RODRIGUEZ and RUBEN QUIÑONES did it as well.

ANGELOPOLIS -- LAGUNA

Tigers winning yesterday by 11-10 and completed the swept to Cowboys, counting on the pitching of winner BAUDEL ZAMBRANO (4-0) who in relief capturde his 4th win of the year, aleader on this category in Mexican Legaue,while HUGO VERDUGO(0-1) lost for Laguna.
SERGIO CONTRERAS and ADAN MUÑOZ hit homers for Tigers, meanwhile JULIO REYES,RAUL LOPEZ and CORNELIO GARCIA did it for Laguna.

MONTERREY -- VERACRUZ

DANIEL FORNES, FRANCISCO MENDEZ and MIGUEK FLORES drove a couple of runs each to lead Sultans to a winning by a score of 8-2, with PABLO OCHOA (3-1) on the mound and with that completed the swept over the Reds.
RAFAEL PIÑA (0-2) lost for Veracruz

CAMPECHE -- TIJUANA

Pirates by winning 15-14 last night to Colts completed another swept on this journey, with winning pitcher in relief, JORGE LUIS GARCIA and the save for SID MARQUEZ ,while MATT HAMMONDS lost for Tijauna ,also working in relief.
RANDALL SIMON extended his hitting streak to 17 games, connecting a HR (7), along with DERRICK WHITE (3).

POPE´s FAREWELL

Pope JOHN PAUL II, was buried today and Mexican Baseball presented a gift during his visit to Monterrey back in 1990 when he was offered a bat with his name on it, in golden letters, as an honorary gift presented for then President of the Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame, Mr. RAFAEL DOMINGUEZ, and as you all know, the league declared a week of dule for him tying black ribbons or brace bands to all team uniforms.

Tigers lead in team batting with .340, followed by Tijuanaa, .338 and Veracruz, .328, while in Team Pitching, Yucatan leads in ERA with 3.75, Campeche 3.86 and Saltillo 4.75

Campeche has a 9 games winning while Laguna has 6 games losing and RANDALL SIMON a 17 games hitting streak at the beginning of the season, which League´s record is 26 games posted by VICTOR BOJORQUEZ of the Mexico City Red Devils.
