MLB: Yanks, D-Rays get it done early by Trent Harrison
Well, if you happened to tune in after the Third inning of the New York- Tampa Bay game last night, all you really got to see was Mussina doing what Moose does best; utterly confusing any batter he faces. He gave up a nice solo shot to Josh Phelps in the 2nd, after Bernie Williams and Hideki Matsui plated RBI singles in the first, and Mussina hunkered down for his 3rd win of Spring Training. The youngster Scott Kazmir certainly held his own versus the vaunted Yankee batting order, but he picked the wrong day to do it. The Yankees are at 14-14 in the Grapefruit League wit one game left on Friday, while the D-Rays have two games left to get out from under .500 at 13-14.
