Before starting this column, the Author extend his condolences and deepest sympathy to Mr. BELISARIO CABRERA and his family for the passing away of his loving wife, MRS.JUSTINA ALVAREZ DE CABRERA.
He is the President of the Tijuana Colts.


TIJUANA-- ANGELOPOLIS

The Colts simply write off the Tigers from the field by delivering an explosive offensive of 20 hits off the weak Tifers pitching, including 2 HR´s by SS JULIO CESAR HERNANDEZ who had a night to remember, with 4 hits and 5 RBI´s to lead this Colts to the victory, 16-5
Starter and winning pitcher, LEO GONZALEZ (1-1) finally got a win, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs in a 6 inning work, and SALVADOR GARIBAY came in to rescue ,and picked up the save.
ERIC OWENS (7-4), LUIS LANDAETA (5-3) hit well also for Tijuana,while JORGE VAZQUEZ hit 2 home runs for Tigers.

YUCATAN--MONCLOVA

A costing error by SS DOMINGO CASTRO in the 6th inning. allowed the Lions to scored 2 runs and defeated Monclova 6-3.
WILLIAM VIZACARRA (1-1), the winner and BRIAN WARD (0-1) the losing pitcher, both starters.
WILLIE ROMERO collected 3hits for Yucatan, same as GUILLERMO GARCIA and GONZALO MEZA for Monclova.

CANCUN--MONTERREY

Sultans shutout Lobstermen 8-0 in a home delivery victory, with winning pitcher FERNANDO HERNANDEZ (1-0) and 3 more relivers scattered 7 hits to Cancun, getting the helping of 2B MIGUEL FLORES ,one of the heroes of the Caribbean Series , who drove in 3 runs for Monterrey.
GUILLERMO MARTINEZ (0-1) lost.

PUEBLA--AGUASCALIENTES

In a hot night EDUARDO RIOS drove 5 runs in for Railroadmen to lead his team to a win off Parrott 9-7.
He went 4-3, with 2 HR´s (6).
Winning pitcher was FLAVIO OREA (2-0) , and losing one was FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ (0-1).
There were also homer by RONTREZ JOHNSON (2) , and RICARDO SORIANO (2).

SALTILLO--CAMPECHE

JAVIER DE LA HOYA (1-1) finally pitched as expected from him, and by tosiing a 1 hit solid pitching work, led the Pirates to avictory off Sarape Makers and JASON BOURGEOIS (1-1) by a score of 8-1.
MARIO VALENZUELA for Saltillo and BILL SELBY for Campeche hit homers in this game.

VERACRUZ--SAN LUIS POTOSI

Veracruz Reds defeated San Luis by 9-5, with NAVARRO (1-2) winning in relief, and starter ENRIQUE QUIÑONES (0-2) losing for San Luis.
Red hot WILLIS OTAÑEZ continued his torrid hitting pace, and went 3-2 in the game.

LAGUNA--TABASCO

The south division leader, the Tabasco Olmecas consolidated their spot by smashing the Laguna Cowboys 16-9.
Veteran JSEUS RIOS (2-0) the winner and CARLOS GARCIA (0-1) the loser.
There were home runs by JULIAN YAN (4),CARLOS SIEVERS (2) for Olmecas and RUDY PEMBERTON (1), HERIBERTO SALAS (1) and RAMON ESPINOZA (1) for Laguna.

.MEXICO CITY--OAXACA

Rained out.
