MONTERREY-- MEXICO CITY

BUBBA SMITH pair of HR´s and MARIO VALDEZ solo HR, was all what Sultans needed to beat hosting Red Devils and take the series home, 10-5.
Starting pitcher and winner RICH De HART ( 1-0) worked through 6 innings, allowing only 4 hits, and relievers FERNANDO VILLALOBOS and closer MAXIMO DE LA ROSA closed the things down in favor of Sultans.
For Mexico City, loser RUDY GONZALEZ (0-1), threw 3.2, 8hits and 5 runs.
ROBERTO SAUCEDO smashed his 3rd HR of the season for Devils, a 3 RBI shot.
DEMOND SMITH collected 3 hits and 4 RBI´s for Monterrey.

PUEBLA --CAMPECHE

Parrots swept current Mexican League cahampions, the Campeche Pirates,by winning 10-5, yesterday in Puebla, with winning pitcher NOE ROMO (1-0) picking his first win ever in Mexicna League,in relief to starting pitcher GUSTAVO FEDERICO.
JUAN JESUS ALVAREZ (0-1) lost for Campeche to whom local team players blasted a furious 20 hits offensive.

SALTILLO--SAN LUIS POTOSI

Another swept, now the Sarape Makers off San Luis, by winning 11-4 supported in HR´S by Puerto Rican PEDRO VALDEZ and forme Dodgers catcher NOE MUÑOZ ( 5-4, 4 RBI´s), and the pitching of winner IGNACIO FLORES (1-1), and closer PASCUAL COCO.
ALBERTO MANRIQUE (0-1) lost for San Luis, and PAT O´SULLIVAN homered for the same team.

TABASCO--VERACRUZ

DONZELL McDONALD´S 3 runhomer, led the Olmecas to a win over Veracruz Reds by a score of 6-3.
Winner was JSALVADOR DELGADILLO (1-0) , with the save for SANTOS HERNANDEZ (4) and EMIGDIO LOPEZ lost for Veracruz (0-1).
CARLOS SIEVERS added a solo shot for Tbasco, and OMAR RAMIREZ did it for Veracruz, with 2 men on.
So series remained in Vercruz for the Reds.

OAXACA--YUCATAN

Venezuelan pitcher, JOSMIR ROMERO threw a pitching jewel and shutout Yucatan, the fisrt of this young season,by winning 3-0 yesterday at Merida.
He went the distance allowing only two hits and fanning 5,TO PICK UP HIS SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON (2-0), while his teammates scored the winning runs on the top of the 8th, thanks to RBI´s doubles by FELIX JOSE and CHRISTIAN QUINTERO.
The loser, reliever LUIS NAVARRO (0-1).
The game lasted only 2 hours and 37 minutes, second fastest game of the season, which is really impressive due to most games last so long, and its one of the leagues goal this year to shorten games as much as possible.

ANGELOPOLIS--CANCUN

In the best game of this journey, Tigers beat Lobstermen 1-0 in 10 innings, when pinch hitter SERAFIN RODRIGUEZ RBI single drove JORGE VAZQUEZ home with the game winning run.
Reliever,BAUDEL ZAMBRANO (1-0) the winner and also reliever OCTAVIO SLAGADO (0-1) , the loser.
Former Braves and Orioles prospect LUIS CARLOS RIVERA started for Tigers, and went 7 innings,allowing
only 2 hits, and seemed recuperated from his injuries.

MONCLOVA--TIJUANA

The Colts looking better everyday, took on the Steelers by winning 8-5, supported in round trippers by RANDALL SIMON and DERRICK WHITE and the good relief pitching by winner SALVADOR GARIBAY (2-1), who went 3.1 innings with 2 hits.EDWIN HURTADO (0-2) lost for Monclova.
LORENZO ARAUZ (2) and RICARDO SAENZ (1) hit HR´s for Monclova, a grand slam.
Tijuana won their second series in a row.

AGUASCALIENTES--LAGUNA

Railroadmen beat Cowboys 10-9, supported in long shots by red hot BOBBY LARA (2) and JESUS GAVIA (1).Winning pitcher JUAN LUEVANO (1-0) , while BEN RIVERA (1-2) lost for Laguna.
Lara went 5-3 ,with 2 RBI´s in the game and have his avg, raised up to .459 in this young season.
