MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE:

Mazatlan Deer get closer to become the Mexican champion into the Caribbean series ,by beating Mexicali Eagles once again 4-0.
It was an outstanding pitching duel performed first by local starter WALTER SILVA, the winner who went5 innings allowing 6 scattered hits and no run ,afterwards manager J.J PACHO used as many of 6 releif pitchers in a critical moments to hold off Mexicali offensive who GREG HANSELL his closer finally eneded up.
Mazatlan scored their first run in the 3rd scored by MIGUEL FLORES and after an RBI single by JOHN GALL the Cardinals prospect, which would it be enough to win this game.
Then, they scored a zipping 3 more runs in the 6 and 7th innings.
Starter FRANCISCO RIVERA lost for Mexicali
Tonight PABLO ORTEGA will try to wrap things up for Mazatlan, while CLAUDIO MORENO will try to extend Mexicali life.

PUERTO RICO

Mayaguez Indians are Champions

Mayaguez shutout Carolina 10-0, last night and get crowned as the 2004-05 champion of the Puerto Rico winter league with J.ALBALADEJO tossing a solid 3 hits shutout in a 9 innings work, supported with their teammates offensive including 3 hits apiece by A.TORRES ,L.FIGUEROA and R.RUIZ.
For Carolina Giants, JULIO MATOS took the lost.
Now Mayaguez will get prepared tom participate into the Caribbean series in Mazatlan,México where they previously participated back in 1989 and the late Ken Caminiti was their 3B on a team that also included players of the tale of Al Newman, Henry Cotto, Luis Quiñones, Tom Pagnozzi, Keith Hughes, Rey Palacios, Luis Rivera, Phil Stephenson and John Cangelosi.Pitchers like Tom Heinkel, Mike Jones, Julio Valera, Jeff Brantley, Mike Kinnunen,and they finished in second place behind champions Zulia Eagles of Venezuela, with a 4.2 record.
1B Phil Stephenson and DH Luis Raul Quiñones made the All Star Team.

VENEZUELA:

Aragua Tigers won 14-3 last night over Caracas Lions, and now they are one game shy to end this up to their side.
Starter HORACIO ESTRADA tossed a solid performance over 7 innings work, and allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, meanwhile for Caracas loser pitcher ANDREW LORRAINE who started this season pítching in Mexican Pacific with Culiacan ,went 3.1 innings with 8 hits and 5 runs .
RENE REYES, had a Grand Slam for Aragua, and RAMON HERNANDEZ also homered in this blast.
Series continues on Friday and JOSMIR ROMERO will go the mound for Aragua,while EDWIN HURTADO will do it for Caracas.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

JOSE LIMA, solid pitching over 7 innings work and BERNIE CASTRO 2 runs doubles were all the Cibao Eagles needed to win this game 6-2 over Licey Tigers; series are now 2-1 in favor of Cibao.
For Licey, RAMON ORTIZ lost the game.
JOSE OFFERMAN and JOSE GUILLEN homered for Licey, meanwhile MIGUEL TEJADA for Cibao.
Series continues tonight in a best of 7 series.
