In a historic game, last night in Culiacan and before a full packed stadium, pitcher JORGE CAMPILLO, remained undefeated and took up his 10th victory of the season to set up a new record, breaking the old one posted by former majpor leaguer TIM LEARY with Tijuana by beating the Yaquis team 16-2.

Culiacan and Obregon shared leagues top postion before this game, and now they are leading the pack, after unlacing afurious 20 hits offensive,led by amazing catcher ADAN MUÑOZ who went 4-4 including his leading 19th HR of the season and drove in a pair.
RUBEN RIVERA (13), and KARIM GARCIA (4) also contributed with home runs.
Meanwhile Obregon's pitching was unable to stop Culiacan's offensive, as starter MARCOS ZAVALA lasted only 3 inning allowing 5 runs, and reliever and debuting OSVALDO FERNANDEZ was knocked down with 6 runs in a 1.2 innings work.
For Culiacan, JOSE SILVA and CRAIG DINGMAN a Detroit Tigers reliever made his debut
Tonight series continues, and ARIEL PRIETO also undefeated will go to te mound for Obregon,while ALFREDO ACEVES a top candidate for rookie of the year honors will go for Culiacan.

In another games, Los Mochis Sugarcane Growers beat Mexicali 8-6, with winner ENRIQUE QUIÑONES on the mound (2-2), and supported in CARLOS SIEVERS (12) and JEFF CIRILLO (!) homers-
FRANCISCO RIVERA ,the loser for Mexicali and counted with JONNY GOMEZ (11) and BILL SELBY (10) homers.

In Navojoa, debuting pitcher BRIAN McNICHOL, got his first win of the season while beating Navojoa Mayos, 8-4 allowing 3 hits and 1 runs, in a 5 innings work.
JAVIER DE LA HOYA, the losing pitcher (1-2), and Padres catcher MIGUEL OJEDA (5), OSCAR ROBLES (7) and JONATHAN ACEVES (5) hit home runs.
Robles will have a chance to make it to the biggies, when Dodgers will give him a look in spring training fighting for a spot as utility player.

Finally,in Hermosillo VINNY CASTILLA made his debut going 6-1 and looked like the lucky charm the Orange Growers were looking for, and defeated Guasave Cottoneers 8-7 in extrainnings (10).
Relief pitcher JON CANNON took the victory (2-2) and, also relief pitcher GUILLERMO CARRILLO (2-2) the lost.
Diamondback EDGAR GONZALEZ started for Hermosillo, going 6 innings,allowing 6 hits and 3 runs.
