PUERTO RICO

Ponce and Caguas are leading the 2004 season with identicals 9-6 records, followed by Manti (7-5) and Carolina, with 6-7 record.
Season just started recently,and individually american Lou Lucca a veteran in Mexican League in summer, is the current batting leader with a .488 avg, after 21 hits in 43 AB, followed by Tampa's OF Jose Cruz, who is playing for Ponce and is hitting .422.
Jose Leon of Manati (.389) and Luis Lopez also from Ponce and hitting .366, completes the top 4 league hitters.
Lucca also leads in Hr´s with 5, in hits with 21 and RBI´s with 13.

In pitching Caguas Orlando Roman has 3-0 and 0.61 ERA , he belongs to the New York Mets and played last summer in Port St. Lucie and Binghamton.
Luis Arroyo and Mike Johnson has both 2-0 record and last summer pitched for the Edmonton Trappers.
Pedro Feliciano leads in saves with 6, while Johnson again leads in K's with 19.

VENEZUELA

Lara Cardinals in the west division and Caracas and Oriente in the east are leading the Venezuelan winter league after,almost 40 ganes played in the season.
Juan Lucena of Aragua (,64), Liu Rodriguez of La Guaira (.360) and Alex Romero of Aragua too (.357), are the top three leading hitters on a very close race for the batting title,
Luis Landaeta (Occidente) leads in Home Runs with 11 followed by his teammate Javier Colina with 10.
who also leads in RBI´s with 37.

In Pitching, John Stephens (Aragua ) leads in ERA with 1.76 and a 4-1 record.Willie Eyre (Magallanes), Jeremy Cummings (Zulia) and Adrian "Duquecito" Hernandez has all 5 wins.
In saves Rich "El Guapo" Garces (Magallanes) the former Red Sox closer has 9, and Cummings also leads in KO's with 45, followed by Yusmeiro Petit, who has 38.

NOTES

Carlos Pulido has a 0- 3 record pitching for Aragua
Cesar Isturis just started palying for Lara
Dominican closer Hector Almonte is 0-4 with Pastora


DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Cibao's Eagles still leading the league since the beginning and now with a 23-9 record are on top , followed by Licey 6 games back.

Juan Camilo (Estrellas) is leading in batting with a .385 avg, followed by Brayan Peña (Gigantes), with .340 and Wilton Veras (Escogido) with .330.
Camilo a Milwaukee Brewers prospect,played last summer for Brevard County in a advanced A ball.
Juan Sosa, Hanley Ramirez and Willy Mo Peña has 5 HR's, while Francisco Santos and Juan Sosa leads in RBI's with 21 each.

In pitching ,Santiago Ramirez has 5-0 and Manny Aybar have 45 K´s, and Jose Vargas have 13 saves all leading numbers.
