Being swept by red hot Obregon Yaquis, the Orange Growers of Hermosillo is a deep concern, a team who regularly put up contender teams, now are close to end up in the red bottom.
Hermosillo fans are disapointed with their team and some are requesting Tom Gamboa's head in order to change their position for the second round and be able to qualify for the play offs.

Yesterday in Obregon, 2 HR's by Mario Valdez (5), a piece by Luis Carlos Garcia(9), Luis Arredondo(2) and batting leader Javier Robles his 9th, was enough for Yaquis to score 10 runs in beating Hermosillo 10-4 and strentghing up his second spot in the tournament.
Today Obregon will play Culiacan visiting the tomato growers and this series will define the leading position and to end the first round.
With Hermosillo, made his debut Jon Nunnally who went 4-0 and 3 K's, taking over Matt Watson´s spot who has been released.
He is the second Oakland farmer who has let go along with promising prospect Dan Johnson,who simply did not find the way to handle the local breaking pitching and outperformed good enough to leave early.

In other results,Mochis win 2-0 over Culiacan helping Obregon to shorten distance, counting on solid pitching by Steve Smyth and the saving of Padres reliever Antonio Osuna, who made his debut along with veteran IF Jeff Cirillo who came in replacement of D.J.Houlton.
Sergio Lizarraga (Arizona) the loser both pitcher are 3-3.

Mazatlan 6-3 over Guasave,with Pablo Ortega (5-2) the winner, and Francisco Cordoba in relief ,the loser (0-2).
Damon Minor (4) for Guasave and Tim Olson (3) for Mazatlan had home runs, and Will Ohman picked up his 11th save of the season.

Mexicali beat Navojoa 10-9 in extrainnings, with reliever David Cortez (4-0) taking the win and also reliever Mike Neu (0-1) the lost.
Rick Short (6), Emmanuel Valdez (2) and Ricardo Saenz (6) for Mexicali and Luis Alfonso Cruz (4) and Morgan Burkhart (7) put the fireworks show.
Dodgers OF ,Jason Grabowski made his debut going 5-0, a quality player in this league,he played last two years with Obregon and under same manager Tim Johnson, also in Hermosillo.He looks like his favorite player
