A new league´s record in HR´s

Culiacan not only broke Mochis record of most HR´s in most consecutive games,posted this same season, but still counting in 18 games as of now.
Yesterday Ruben Rivera the former prospect, made it up by hiting his 6th of the season, when his team Culiacan defeated Mexicali by a score of 3-2 in 8 innings (second game of a DH).
In the first game, Fernando Valenzuela in his comeback, went 3 innings, allowing 3 Runs all earned, 6 hits, 2 of them HR´s, but fortunately not taking the loss.

In Mochis, Obregon supported by 2 HR´s of OF Luis Carlos Garcia (6), led the Yaquis to a victory over the Sugar Cane Growers by score of 8-1.Chris Coste also contibuted with a HR, his 6th of the season.

Navojoa, finally got a series win, getting the double header played yesterday and swept Guasave, it looked like new Manager Mario "Mendoza Line Mendoza got the magic stick to lead the Mayos to the winning way.

Finally, Mazatlan led by the hand of Francisco Campos ( 3-0), shutout Hermosillo 3-0, helped by a round tripper by Tim Olson.

Culiacan is still leading the league, tied up with Obregon and standing looks like this:

Individually , Obregon´s SS Javier Robles is still leading in hitting with a .390 avg. followed by Mexicali OF, Rick Short with .378 also leading in hits with 32, and Rontrez Johnson (Mochis) with .376..

Iker Franco, of Hermosillo the HR leader wth 9, follwed wiith 3 players with 8.
In RBI´s, Obregon OF, Luis Carlos Garcia leading with 22, while Mochis 3B, Ramon Orantes is close to him with 21.

In pitching, 3 pitchers remains undefeated as Culiacan Jorge Campillo (5-0), Obregon Ariel Prieto (4-0) and Mazatlan Francisco Campos (3-0 and league´s leading ERA 2.05).

Chris Gisell of Obregon and a Rockies prospect has allowed most HR´s with 9 by opposing batteries.

Culiacan closer Mark Kroon, has 10 saves, followed by Will Ohman of Maztlan with 8.

In KO´s, Culiacan Alfredo Aceves and Obregon's Chris Gisell have 22 each.


TRANSACTIONS

Mexicali released pitcher Rick de Hart

It was known unofficially that, veteran OF Trenidad Hubbard is joining Mazatlan to take over Joe Borchard´s spot, who has been recently released by the team.
A proven player in this league, if its confirmed will boost the Deer team higher.
