We´ll be starting a caribbean baseball round up, for you to know the progress the season makes regarding different Latin Countries activity.

Let´s start today with Venezuela.

Venezuelan Baseball Round Up

It seems that Venezuela´s winter tournament will be of the most competitive ones,just because and after the almost 20 games played, standing looks pretty much balanced in both divisions.

In west division , Cardinals and Aragua Tigers are leaders, with 10-6 and 11-7, meanwhile in the east division, La Guaira Sharks, Caribes and Caracas Lions are sharing the first spot

Liu Rodriguez of La Guaira is the batting leader with a solid .436 avg. followed by J. Boscan (Cardinals), with a .425 .

Major leaguer Edgardo Alfonzo (SF),is leading in HR´s, with 5, Luis Landaeta of Pastora also shares the lead with 5.
In RBI´s Alfonzo and David Kelton playing for Caribes and a Cubs prospect,both have 15.

In pitching, Aragua´s J. Stephens (Pawtucket), is 2-0 with 0.95 ERA, C.. Jimenez ( Cardinals) with identical W-L record.
Jason Cummings ( Tennesee Smokies ) of Zulia,is the K´s leader with 20

Edgardo Alfonzo with 5 HRs. Wow .. is it really possible? He is such a BUST with the SF Giants. Big salery with no numbers.
