Olympic Baseball - August 20, 2004

Baseball is almost unknown in Greece but that hasn't kept large numbers of curious spectators from coming to the games- more tha 13,000 to watch the Greek team perfom. They cheer at all the wrong times- a line drive out, a low and away fastball called a ball, whatever. When "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" is played during the seventh inning stretch they sit in silence. They love the YMCA song even though there is no C in the Greek language. Wouldn't it be great if the Greek team won a game? The guys are trying.
