Hiroshima Carp 3 - Hanshine Tigers 1:
Tom Davey (3-3) pitched the Hiroshima Carp past the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium on Friday night. Davey gave up only three hits and fanned 10 batters in his complete game victory.
Greg LaRocca hit 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Carp.
Yokohama BayStars 3 - Chunichi Dragons 2:
Tyrone Woods hit a RBI double in the ninth inning to slip the BayStars past the Dragons at Nagoya Dome.
Yomiuri Giants 7 - Yakult Swallows 3:
Kimiyasu Kudo (4-0) led the Giants over the Swallows at Tokyo Dome. Kudo struck out 10 while yielding three runs and five hits in seven innings. Yoshinobu Takahashi had three runs in a 2-for-3 hitting performance for Yomiuri.
Fukuoka Daiei Hawks 7 - Chiba Lotte Marines 1:
Tsuyoshi Wada pitched a complete game to down the Marines at Chiba Marine Stadium. Wada allowed only one run and four hits.
Nippon Ham Fighters 4 - Orix BlueWave 2:
Tsutomu Ishimoto blasted a ninth inning two run home run to rally the Fighters past the BlueWave at Yahoo BB Stadium.
