Taiwan Baseball News: Rookie Finally Comes Through

President Lions 5 China Trust Whales 2
Rookie Wei-luen Pan finally notched his sixth win as the President Lions beat the China Trust Whales 5-2 in front of 2,265 onlookers at Jayi Stadium last night.
After starting the season 6-0-0, Pan suddenly dropped five decisions. Last night, he (7-5-0) surrendered one run, which was earned, on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. He walked none and struck out four batters en route to being named the Game's MVP.
In the leadoff spot, Lions center fielder Kang-ling Huang went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Second baseman Hiroaki Yoshimi finished the evening 2-for-5 with a triple, one run plated and two RBIs.
34-year old Kuo-lee Chien-fu (2-4-1) started for the Whales and gave up three runs, all earned, on five hits in three innings. Normally a closer, he walked two hitters and fanned out none.
