Makoto Gida 0 Sinon Bulls 3
Dominican native Osvaldo Martinez pitched seven innings of shutout baseball last night at Taichung Stadium for the Sinon Bulls in front of 3,588 fans but it was slugging third baseman Tai-shan Chang who stole the show as he went 3-for-3 with two home runs, his 15th and 16th of the 2003 Chinese Professional Baseball League season.
Chang finished with two runs scored and three RBIs and was named the Game's MVP as the Bulls blanked the Makoto Gida 3-0.
Meanwhile, Martinez scattered only three hits, walked none and struck out 12 batters en route to improving to 9-5-0 with three saves. Closer Ramon Morel pitched a scoreless ninth, surrendering two hits and striking out one, to record his 13th save of the year.
Rho-hui Feng (1-3-0) picked up the loss for the Gida as he gave up two runs, both earned, in 7 1/3 innings of work. Feng scattered five hits, walked two and struck out three. He also surrendered one of Chang's homers.

CPBL NOTE: The President Lions have added left-handed pitcher Stevenson Agosto to the 25-man roster. The left-hitting P weighs 92 kg, is 180 cm tall and will wear No. 41. This is his first year in the CPBL.
The China Trust Whales have added right-handed hitting/throwing American native Derek Hasselholf to the 25-man roster in place of Dominican third baseman Juan Melo. Hasselholf is 188 cm tall, weighs 81 kg and will wear No. 20. In 19 games Melo was hitting .316 with three home runs and 16 RBIs. I guess the Whales needed pitching help for the second half.
