Makoto Gida 2 Sinon Bulls 1 (10 innings)
It takes more than nine innings to beat the Chinese Professional Baseball League-leading Sinon Bulls. The Makoto Gida scored the winning run in the top half of the tenth inning off Bulls closer Ramon Morel en route to a 2-1 victory in ten innings before 2,694 fans at Taichung Stadium last night.
The Bulls drew first blood as they made it 1-0 in their half of the fifth as catcher Chun-chang Yeh went 2-for-3 with one RBI as he drove in left fielder Song-yong Luo, who had singled. Luo finished 1-for-4.
The Gida then tied the ballgame at 1-1 off American native Jeffrey Andra, who started for the Bulls and gave up one earned run in seven innings. Left fielder Chan-rong Chiou went 3-for-4 with one run scored for the Gida while second baseman Yi-shian Lin finished the evening 1-for-4 with one run plated.
Shih-ching Tsai pitched six frames for the Gida and he surrendered one earned run on three hits. American native Bobby Munoz threw 2/3 perfect innings to pick up his sixth save of the year.

First Securities Agan 2 President Lions 6
The President Lions have promised themselves to have a better second half. They have bolted to a 4-0-0 start after they pounded the First Securities Agan by a score of 6-2 last night at Tainan Stadium in front of 2,015 onlookers.
Designated hitter Lien-hung Chen belted his eighth home run of the 2003 season off Agan starter Dong Ho Kim (0-2-0), who surrendered six runs, four of them earned, on 12 hits through 7 1/3 innings. Chen was unanimously voted the Game's MVP as he finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs. Other Lions in supporting roles included Japanese second baseman Hiroaki Yoshimi, who finished the evening at 2-for-4 with a double and one run plated. Center fielder Kang-ling Huang and first baseman Chuan-jia Wang each went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
The Agan seem to be back to their old ways but it's still early. The second-half records are being combined with the first-half records so that means the Agan are an abysmal 10-41-4.
First baseman Hung-jeh Tsai went 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored for the Agan.
Long-shui Dai (4-1-0) pitched six shutout innings to pick up the win as he scattered six hits and struck out six, allowing no walks. Reliever Yang-kai Chen surrendered the two Agan runs on two hits and a walk in one inning.
The Agan will play the Leos again tonight at Tainan Stadium with the first pitch at 6:35 p.m. (Taiwan time).
