By Andrew Wong

Samsung Lions 7 Hyundai Unicorns 6

Hae-young Ma belted a home run in the ninth inning off Yong-joon Cho as the Samsung Lions broke a 6-6 tie to beat the Hyundai Unicorns 7-6 yesterday in Suwon.

The Unicorns sent ace Min-tae Chong to the mound but lost their fourth game in a row. Chong picked up a no-decision as he gave up six runs on nine hits in five innings, not one of his best outings. Cho picked up the loss. For the Leos, closer Jang-jin Noh improved to 3-0 after giving up one run on a homer in 2 2/3 innings of work.

The Lions ten-game winning streak, which ended two days ago, was the best start in Korea Baseball Organization history. The Lions are 10-1 while the Unicorns are 5-5-1.

SK Wyverns 3 Kia Tigers 0

Jin-ho Cho notched his first win since returning from the Major Leagues with a one-hitter in six innings as the SK Wyverns blanked the Kia Tigers 3-0 yesterday in Kwangju.

Left fielder Won-woo Cho went 4-for-5 with an RBI to lead the winners, who improved to 7-4-0. The Tigers dropped to 9-2.

Hanhwa Eagles 2 Doosan Bears 0

Young-woo Lee and Ji-man Song each hit solo home runs as the Hanhwa Eagles shutout the Doosan Bears 2-0 yesterday.

Eagles' starter Min-chul Jung gave up four hits in five innings to pick up the win and improve to 2-0. Lenin Picota picked up his first save of the season with two scoreless innings.

The Eagles flew to 5-6-0 while the Bears ran out of gas at 1-10-0.

LG Twins 4 Lotte Giants 0

11 and counting - in the wrong direction. The Lotte Giants have dropped 11 in a row following yesterday's 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the LG Twins in Seoul.

The Giants have not scored a run in 21 innings.

Byung-seok Lee, who was acquired by the Twins from the Tigers in the off-season, pitched six scoreless innings for the shutout. He improved to 1-0.

The Giants are 0-11-0 while the Twins improved to 6-4-1 on the season.
