Korea Baseball News: Running of the Lions in Taegu

Samsung Lions 5 Doosan Bears 4

Hae-young Ma hit two home runs to lead the Samsung Lions to a 5-4 win over the Doosan Bears yesterday in Taegu. Ma was is the reiging 2002 Korean Series MVP.

The designated hitter single-handedly turned the Leos' deficit from 4-0 into a 4-4 tie with two two-run jacks.

LG Twins 4 SK Wyverns 1

19-year-old Kyung-soo Park stole the show yesterday in Seoul as the rookie hit a two-run double with a pinch hit and later scored to lead the LG Twins past the SK Wyverns 4-1.

Reliever Mun-suk Chang picked up the win for the Twins while former Boston Red Sox pitcher Sang-hoon Lee picked up the save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Kia Tigers 12 Hanhwa Eagles 3

Dong-joo Shin dropped a pair of home runs to steer the Kia Tigers to a 12-3 victory over the Hanhwa Eagles yesterday in Kwanju. Shin went 3-for-4 with five RBIs.

In 6 2/3 innings, Mark Kiefer allowed one hit while striking out six to chalk up the win.

Hyundai Unicorns 8 Lotte Giants 1

American third baseman Micah Franklin hit a three-run homer as the Hyundai Unicorns routed the Lotte Giants 8-1 in Suwon yesterday.

Fomer Yokohama Bay Stars' starter Shane Bowers gave up one run on five hits in seven innings to pick up the win for the Unis.
