PHILLIES WIN THE PENNANT! PHILLIES WIN THE PENNANT! PHILLIES WIN THE PENNANT!
And they’re going crazy.

J-roll’s leadoff homer pricked Dodger balloon,
on the nationwide stage, not to say a full moon.
King Cole Hamels then picked up the ball,
his message to LA – “wait ‘til next Fall.”
All over Philly, a long delayed happy tune.

“Know this fans, it’s only begun;
four more wins, then we’ll have fun.”
Phils have their eyes on the prize,
set for AL surprise;
25-man team refrain: “we’re not done.”
Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California.
Philadelphia – 5, Los Angeles Dodgers – 1.
WP – Hamels (2-0) [17-10]; LP – Billingsley (0-2) [16-13].
HR – Manny Ramirez (2) [39], 6th.
Rollins (1) [13], 1st.
