ACES AND EIGHTS
Phillies’ bats in deep, deep freeze,
give off smell like mouldy cheese.
Can first place team be this bad?
Fans undecided: sad or mad?
Utley and Howard: step forward, please.

Aces and eights is a dead man’s hand,
on 8/8/08 Phillies taking this stand.
What will it take to bring team to life?
A kick in the pants? A kettle of strife?
Or an MVP with a vision that’s grand?
Friday, 8/8/08. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh – 2, Philadelphia – 0 (12 innings).
WP – Beam (1-1), LP – Walrond (0-1).
S- Hansen (3).

Bats as cold as a Yukon night...
Pitchers trying with all their might...
With tails 'tween their legs like a little whipped pup...
Charlie i'ts time to shake things up...
