METS TAKE MARATHON
A long day at the Bank ended poorly.
Three hour rain delay, two extra innings, tested us sorely.
Jayson Werth’s two out 9th inning blast extended the day;
caused what’s left of Billy Wagner’s hair to turn gray.
Met’s hopes alive on Fernando Tatis’ quandrangulorely.
Sunday, July 6, 2008. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
New York Mets – 4, Philadelphia – 2 (11 innings).
WP – Smith (1-1), LP – Durbin (2-2).
H- Sanchez (14), Feliciano (10), Heilman (9). BS – Wagner (6).
HR – Beltran (13), 3rd; Tatis (2), 11th, 1 on.
Werth (12), 9th, 1 on.
