Phillies Journal - 2008
by Max Blue

Three two-run homers did Giants in.
Pat-the-Bat a tenth inning bomb for the win.
Aaron Rowand came back to haunt his old team;
his tenth inning go-ahead shot like a dream.
Phils hang on to first though the margin is thin.

Friday, May 2, 2008. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia 6, San Francisco 5 (10 innings)
WP Romero (2-0), LP Wilson (0-1).
BS Wilson (2); Madson (1).
HR Rowand (3), 10th.
Utley (12), 1st, 1 on; Feliz (4). 4th, 1 on; Burrell (9), 10th, 1 on.

GWJ-R 13-9.

I've oft' found the Phils in the worst place
And I've spied them in every accursed place
But now that they're not
They're easy to spot
So, why not just hold on to first place?
