YOUNG BEATS OLD MOYER

Padres’ pitcher Chris Young is six feet and ten inches tall;
he’s got a Princeton degree and a sneaky fastball.
Phils’ Jamie Moyer did all he could,
but two homeruns meant that he could
in the end only watch his team fall.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
San Diego – 4, Philadelphia – 2.
WP – Young (2-2), LP – Moyer (1-2).
H – Thatcher (5), Bell (6). S – Hoffman (5).
HR – Ad. Gonzalez (5), 1st, 1 on; Kouzmanoff (2), 3rd.
Utley (11), 1st, 1 on.
11-9 GWJ-R
