BASEBALL GODS STEP IN: PHILLIES CURSED
Atlanta down 8-2 in the eighth faced great odds;
take heart, Braves, no lead is safe from the meddling baseball gods.
When the dinks, dunks, flukes and flubs were done,
sure enough, unworthy Braves had won;
to baseball gods looking for fun, Phillies and their town stand out like lightning rods.
