HAMELS NEAR PERFECT

The first 18 batters went down steaming;
forty three thousand fans on their feet screaming.
Brewers’ Hardy pierced the balloon,
but not the sweet tune —
no fear, Philly fans, you’re not dreaming.

May 16, 2007. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia – 6, Milwaukee – 2.
WP – Hamels (6-1), LP – Suppan (5-4).
HR – Hardy (13), 7th inning, one on, none out.
Rowand (6), 2nd inning, two on, two out.
