HILL TOO STEEP

Shawn Hill took the mound for the Nats,
threw killer sinkers to quiet Phillies’ bats.
The guy threw fourteen ground ball outs,
he’s a pitcher, can there be any doubts?
All we can do is take off our hats.

April 26, 2007. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Washington – 4, Philadelphia – 2.
WP – Hill (2-2), LP – Hamels (2-1).
HR – Young (3), third inning, none on, two out.
Rowand (4), eighth inning, none on, none out.

Hill
Was a pill...
To the hapless Phil...
Who paid the bill...
