Colombia's Tigres Captures Series with Win Over Nicaragua's Indios in Game #2
Tigres de Cartagena representing Liga Colombiana de Beisbol Profesional won game #2 of a three game series by a score of 6-3 over Indios del Bóer of Liga Nicaraguense de Beisbol.
Cartagena’s Ismael Castro blasted a three-run home run in the first inning to open up the game at Managua’s Estadio Nacional Denis Martínez on Friday night. Armando Villeros added a solo homer in the sixth inning for Tigres.
Winning pitcher Rafael Rojano retired 15 straight Bóer batters until giving up a double to Jimmy González and a single to Jorge Avellán to drive in the first Indios run in the sixth inning. Julio Raudez was pinned with the loss. Jimmy González added a solo homer for the Indios.
Cartagena took the first game 4-3. The third and final game will be played on February 10 at Estadio Nacional Denis Martínez in Managua.
