Japan Series: The Fighters win it!!!

Fighters Won it all

 Tsuyoshi Shinjo cried from the eigth till the end as the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters secured their first Japan Series crown in 44 years last weekend by defeating the Chunichi Dragons 4-1 in game 5 of the series. Atsunori Inaba was named series MVP after hitting .353 (6-for-17) in the Japan Series with two homers and a series-best seven RBIs. In Thursday's title-clinching win, the Fighters' first in 44 years, he hit a solo homer in the eighth.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo announced his retirement from professional baseball. Standing on the pitcher's mound of the Fighters home field, Shinjo said he has yet to decide on his future after ending his eventful 17-year career with his team's 4-1 win over the Chunichi Dragons in Game 5 of the Japan Series.
