TOO CRUEL
Too cruel, baseball gods, stop the tease;
a little mercy for long-suffering Phils’ fans, please.
One pitch from the wild-card top,
a ground ball one-hundred bounce hop.
A gut punch; we’re down on our knees.
Ryan Howard (49) team all-time HR champ,
his smile a two hundred-watt amp.
Upper deck in RFK it flew,
tied the game in the fourth but who knew
the bullpen would blow it. Boo hoo.

Who throws like a squirt...
Gives the foes a spurt...
So we lose and desert...
