WHERE ARE YOU, BRETT MYERS?

Three batters in we’re in a big hole,
Brett Myers should look deep in his soul.
At least give us a chance,
to get to the dance.
Not keep us from finding our goal.

August 18, 2006. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Washington – 6, Philadelphia – 4.
WP – Armas (8-8). LP – Myers (8-6).
HR – Soriano (39), Zimmerman (17).
Lieberthal (4).

SPORADIC YANKEE JOURNAL:

YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THE MATH,
AS THE YANKEES PULLED THE TRIGGER,
TO KNOW THAT 3 AND I HALF,
HELPS NEW YORK'S LEAD GROW BIGGER.
YESTERDAY'S DOUBLE HEADER SWEEP,
ENABLED NEW YORK TO CREEP,
SO MUCH FURTHER AHEAD,
AND MAY HAVE LEFT THE SOX FOR DEAD.

Like the guy pushing the boulder...
To the top of the hill...
He keeps getting older...
as his progress is nil...

Like Prometheus of old...
They seem chained to a rock...
As the story is told...
he could never unlock...

Not sure what they need...
to get rid of this load...
A knight on a steed...
Or silver or gold...

Whatever it is...
and takes to sustain...
The streaks when they whiz...
But just can't maintain...
